Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center

The Interpretive Center is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is free, but there is a fee for scheduled school and family programs. See the School/Scout page for school programs. Family programs are offered as shown below. They are designed to let kids learn about nature and have fun at the same time.

These events are offered for Winter 2009/10. Unless otherwise indicated they take place or start at the Interpretive Center. Reservations are required. Call (949) 923-2275 or mailto:unbic@ocparks.com. For all programs space is limited and confirmation number may be required.

Conservation Club – available upon request for groups of 10 or more

Ready to dig in and get dirty? Designed for students aged 2 to 13 years, come work with Preserve staff on establishing healthy habitat for Bay wildlife.  Learn the importance of native plants as we clear and protect our own special plot of land. Activities may include weeding, watering, planting and debris clearing. There is no fee for this program. Sunset Stroll – available upon request for groups of 10 or more

Join us for a twilight nature walk and discover the wonders of our “not so spooky” night-time wildlife friends. Discover how nature’s night shift is essential to our habitats and create your own nocturnal critter to take home! Dress warmly for the evening chill. All ages. $3/person. Tideland Tots – 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for ages 2 – 5. (New Time) Join park staff for a parent – child experience with stories, movement and hands-on fun. $5 per child.

ESTUARY EXPLORERS – 12:15 am to 1:00 pm for ages 2-8 – NEW PROGRAM!

Attention: Junior Explorers Wanted! Come join park staff as we journey through the bay investigating nature’s mysteries. Take part in hands-on activities, experiments and nature crafts. Come prepared for an exciting outdoor experience! Class fee is $5.00 per child aged 2-8 years.
