Marsh Rosemary, Sea Lavender  (Limonium  californicum)
Plant: Perennial with a woody base that grows to 8 to 16 inches tall.
Flowers: Many small pale violet on a branching stem 8 to 16 inches tall.
Leaf: Produced at ground level,  egg shaped, 2 to 8 inches long on long stems.  No leaves on flower stems.
Flowering period:   July to December
