Plant: Annual, erect slender plant 8 to 30 inches tall, sometimes widely branched and sparsely bristled with linear leaves up to 6 inches long.
Flowers: The orange-yellow flowers are in a tightly coiled shape resembling the fiddle neck on a violin.
Leaf: Lance shaped, coarse to the touch, hairy and alternate on the stems.
