The Sharkmobile is a stakebed truck fitted with
touch tanks holding sharks, ray and other live species from the Bay.
It is driven to schools and outreach events.
Sharkmobile programs are about to start again
and there is a big backlog. Sharkmobile Educators are needed!

Qualifications Needed:
|
10-week Naturalist Training or equivalent that
provides basic knowledge of estuarine/marine ecology and
wildlife.

Training Given:
|
Training classes are given on the Sharkmobile
and educational stations. There is also a video showing how
everything is done. Trainees will act as assistant on at least two
outings before sharing duties with a seasoned Sharkmobile
Educator.

Job Description:
|
Educators will travel to elementary schools and
other locations for off-site education. For school programs,
additional education stations are set up in a multipurpose room
and/or outside and groups of students rotate through these stations
and the Sharkmobile station. Stations are similar to those set up
for the Shellmaker School Tours. You may specialize in one station
where you will stay as the students rotate among stations.
Those with ability to set up and take
down the Sharkmobile, and/or interest in driving the truck are
particularly welcomed.

for a minimum of 6 months.
