2nd Sundays: second Sunday of each
month, 7:30am-1pm (includes set up and break down); second Saturday
of each month, 8-10am in preparation for 2nd Sundays;
other events as necessary.

Qualifications Needed:
|
10-week Naturalist Training, Adopt-A-Park
General Volunteer, or UCCE Master Gardener.
Consistently available for programs. Enjoy
working with people. Willingness to learn and utilize new
skills/tasks and take leadership role.

Training Given:
|
Biennial training (fall/spring) with Jennifer
Naegele and/or Matt Yurko. Event-specific training as needed.

Job Description:
|
Position requires attendance at 2nd
Sundays events to lead other volunteers in restoration activities
and educate them about human and natural history of Upper Newport
Bay. Specific skills
include installing a plant correctly, basic native and invasive
plant identification, volunteer instruction and group management,
including volunteer safety. Restoration
Crew Leader duties include event preparation and cleanup.
Other opportunities include assisting with individual
volunteer groups (non-2nd Sundays), providing
interpretation during volunteer events, participating in restoration
site monitoring efforts and representing the program at conferences
or festivals.

A commitment to lead volunteers at six
volunteer events each year.
