Currently we are conducting Kindergarten through 3rd Grade School Tours on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The programs are interactive and aligned with California State Science Content Standards. They include a short nature hike.

Training Given:

In addition to the Associate Training, individual training will be given by County staff personnel. Trainees will shadow a school tour before being asked to guide.

Job Description:

Guide school tours on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Arrive at 8:30am to help set up programs. Greet students at 9:30am.  Tours end at 11:30am followed by take down.

Each program contains an introduction, a nature walk and two interactive station activities aligned with California State Science Content Standards. These programs are very rewarding and fun. Students are from a wide variety of school districts including El Monte, Lakewood, Santa Ana, Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.

Job Expectations:

After shadowing a school tour, a monthly guide commitment will be expected for 6 months.
