There are two main forums for which articles are currently sought:

The quarterly NBNF Tracks newsletter
The monthly Community Commentary column we have in the Daily Pilot

We are currently looking to build up a stock of articles that can be used for future issues.

We are also seeking to have articles published in other magazines for outreach/education purposes. So ideas/contacts are also sought.

Finally we need writers who can wordsmith publicity materials that have been conceptualized already.

Articles for Tracks:

These should be from 600 to 900 words long and address ecology, natural history and other topics of interest to a wide audience of both naturalists and lay people in Orange County and beyond. See prior Tracks for ideas. Go to newportbay.org/newsand.htm for back issues. Publication due dates are the first week of February, May, August and November. Submit proposed topic in the form of a one or two sentence outline. 

Articles for Daily Pilot:

These should be 500 words or less and address Bay issues and happenings of topical interest to the community. We are not on a set submittal schedule. Instead we try to tie the article to something like an event we put on (e.g. Cleanup Day or a One-day Training class). If interested contact Roger to find out what topics we have planned.
