The City of Newport Beach has engaged NBNF to perform a cataloging of existing scientific data relevant to Upper Newport Bay to facilitate the creation of a single Comprehensive Resource Management Program (CRMP) for the Bay. (See the Research Cataloger and Science Advisor job listings.) A major part of the information management project will be the development of a searchable database that will allow online access to information. Help is needed in defining the information system.

Note – NBNF will not be maintaining original raw scientific data in this database. The intent is to link to current data maintained by others. The extent that this can be done will be part of the development work.

Job Description:

The following pertains to the Information Management part of the CRMP Data Cataloging Project: 

  • Help establish a system for online searchable access to the data cataloged and/or synopses of this data.
  • Integrate this electronic information management system with the City’s and NBNF’s website.
  • Help create the procedures, etc. necessary to perpetuate the online system and maintain integrity of data.
