Job Description:

Scout Program Leaders lead advertised programs from either the Muth Interpretive Center or the Back Bay Science Center at times requested by the Scout Troop/Pack/Den leaders. The Scout Programs Manual lists materials needed and what to cover to earn the entire patch/badge. You will set up for the program, greet the group, provide the program, collect a completed registration form and fee, and distribute patches.

Each program contains an introduction, a nature walk and a craft or game. The most important part of this program is to have fun with the scouts while educating them and to cover all of the items necessary in the program to earn the patch. Don’t be concerned about knowing everything. What you need to know will be in the Scout Program Manual. The key is to be interactive and have them participate by asking them questions that you already know the answer to.

Job Expectations:

Make a commitment to become a Scout Program Leader and lead at least 2 programs per month for at least 6 months.
