Over 500 people joined us on Saturday, August 26th to
interpret the wonders of Upper Newport Bay through a variety of hands-on activities at
"Creation Stations" along Back Bay Drive and to see popular artists from Laguna
Beach Plein Air Artists take part in an extraordinary "Paint Out". The works the
artists created during the day will become live and silent auction items for the
"Open to Interpretation" fundraiser scheduled for October 12 at the new Peter
and Mary Muth Interpretive Center.
At the Clay Sculpture station
children learned about life in the mud here at the Bay as they sculpted various creatures.
Laguna Soup company
offered a wide variety of unique cold specialty items for lunch. They will donate 15% of
the proceeds to the Newport Bay Naturalists and Friends.
Many thanks to all those
who helped make this another successful event at the Bay.
